Why I Don’t Have Adsense On This Blog

Posted on 21. Mar, 2010 by admin in IM Methods, My story

I got a mail today, through my contact page. They asked me why I didn’t use adsense on this blog. You know, with me being an internet marketeer, they were wondering why I didn’t take “advantage” of my readers to make money. Now, I have to say, when I started this blog the first time, I did have adsense on it. Any money was good money, not? But when I restarted it, a few weeks before christmas 2009 I removed the adsense and only kept a few affiliate banners. Let me tell you why.

This blog isn’t like any other niche blog of mine. No, it’s my journal, my ideas and plans for the future and my way of writing everything down that, in one way or another, is important to me. Also, the readers of this blog aren’t like my usual “customers”, they are more like friends to me. I mean, I share my feelings with them, so could I call them anything less than friends? I don’t think so.

I hear what you are thinking. Why would I promote other affiliate products, if you are friends and not customers? Well, I don’t just promote anything that makes money. No, not on this blog. This blog only has affiliate banners to products I have used myself and that I love to use. I want to share my success with you guys, and to do that, I also share the tools that have brought me success, hence the promotion of certain products. If you buy through my link after I told you about my success, well, that’s a plus, but really I don’t intend to make money from this blog. My intentions are to create a blog that shows others what’s possible. To show them, where I came from and what I have accomplished, without any knowledge off the internet, besides how to find information on it. I came a long way, being able to not only create wordpress blogs for myself, but also being able to offer this service to others and feel comfortable about it.

So, now you know. Adsense isn’t available on this blog, and it never will be. It just doesn’t fit.

Very good explanation Leslie – I am the same. I used to use Adsense on my blog too and decided to take it down, for similar reasons as well as the fact that I didn’t like the way it looked and it didn’t really earn me any money as my visitors ignored it lol. And really, I shouldn’t want my visitors to click away anyway ;)

Same here – Seven Somewhere is my journal and while I will use affiliate links on products I talk about it’s because they worked for me. I’m not sure adsense would show any relevant ads on my blog anyway and having them there would actually have a negative impact on my account overall.

Well, like I said, I did have adsense when I first started and like you fear, adsense doesn’t really show relevant ads. That’s also because the topics are too broad to give good ads I think. But well, I’m not using them anymore, from now on only products I use and love myself.

I have been looking around http://www.lesliebogaerts.org and really am impressed by the good content here. I work the nightshift at my job and it really gets boring. I have been coming right here for the past couple nights and reading. I simply needed to let you know that I’ve been enjoying what I have seen and I look forward to reading more.

I’m glad you like it. Although next time you leave a comment, I would love it if you put your name in and then add your keywords after that. I have keywordluv installed so you do get the linkjuice with anchor text that way. I love to know who I’m talking too :)
